I've been waiting to buy my first Vette for a few years and found a beautiful '75 Stingray on Ebay, which lead me to Gateway Classic Cars in Nashville. My main concern was that I live 4 hours away and was wondering if I should have trust in driving the car back home. Understanding the emphasis that Gateway disclaims that all cars are purchased "as is" should have been my first red flag. So, I called Cody and asked him if he were me would he feel comfortable driving the car 4 hours to get it home. He said he would feel confident driving it to California. Needless to say, I made it 46 miles before having to have it towed back to Gateway Nashville. The engine was shot. I then had to pay an independent carrier $650 to have it towed back to a garage in my home town. Guess what, the car broke loose in the trailer damaging the nose of the car. This was taken care of by the carriers insurance, which is more than I can say for Gateway. They finally contacted the seller, since these cars are on consignment, and I was reimbursed $1000 from the seller...not Gateway. They do not take any responsibility for anything, so BUYER BEWARE! They wouldn't let me test drive the car, which I should have known right then that this was a mistake. Long story short, I have had to pay out another $5200 for a new engine and brakes all the way around. In dealing with Cody, be cautious. At one point, in one of our numerous conversations, he asked me if I wanted to talk to Cody the car salesman or "Cody" Cody. I told him I've been waiting for the real Cody to show up from the very beginning. A lesson learned, but I will never look at making a purchase from Gateway in the future. If you are looking for a classic car, find a local car rally and walk the crowd to see if anyone is looking to sell.

I'm not gonna bash the company but you'd be a fool not to heed this advice *GO SEE THE CAR YOURSELF & DONT EVEN WASTE TIME ASKING THEM ABOUT IT* even tho its a integrity issue I blame me because OF COURSE they just wanna sell vehicle... Just got the vehicle 1. Shocks are shot 2. Its already in the transmission shop 3. Front suspension shot 4. Leaking gas like water from fuel pump when started 5. the guys told me they have the truck locked up & secured because I stressed I live in a big city & need to be able to lock the doors/top..he said while on the phone he was locking it as we spoke & it worked perfect...but when the truck came there's only ONE KEY how did he or should I lock anything with no keys to the lock? I'm sure they have good ones you just won't know until you see for yourself....
